Let’s Do the Time Warp… This Weekend

Some of the best nightlife in Australia has gone back in time. It’s become all about Whitney, MJ and John Farnham, all over again. So where do you find these hidden, retro gems? We have done our research and here are the best pubs and clubs serving all-time classic tunes across Eastern Australia.

Sydney
If you’re not too keen on leaving the CBD, The Retro on Sussex Street or Plan B on Liverpool Street has you covered. Or, try The Basement in Circular Quay for some great live jazz, blues and rock performances. If you are feeling slightly more adventurous, there is The Vinyl Room located in the Sydney South suburb of Gymea that plays classics from all the decades, all night long. If you are venturing that way, make sure you check out our various dining and bar options as the perfect starting point!

Melbourne
For a chance to really work your moves visit the Club Retro on Lonsdale Street. Or opt for a night off your feet and relax at Groove Live Bar and Terrace at the Crown Casino, and listen to some live local tunes. If you’re staying outside the CBD try Mr Scruff’s in Collingwood for burgers and tunes, or Greenwood Loft in Fitzroy for some old school soul.

Queensland
Start the night by thrilling your taste buds with some sweet and sour cocktails at the Press Club Fortitude Valley, a must-do whilst in the sunny state. After that, hit up Story Bridge Hotel or The Normanby for a night filled with dancing at Brisbane’s top pubs.

Now that you know where to go, grab your friends and make that dream night come true! In the meantime, don’t forget to check out our entertainment options as the perfect night out might be closer than you think!
