Paradise, the word conjures images of sandy beaches outlined by swaying palm trees and the sun setting over the ocean. Paradise is also the name of Sydney’s premier Greek band. Thousands of performances in the last 26 years since these musicians have been together are testament to their versatility and modern sound.

As possibly the busiest Greek band on the east coast of Australia, Paradise have performed for private and corporate functions, fund raisers and promotional events and most clubs in Sydney. Over these years Paradise have been the support band of choice for visiting Greek entertainers including Yiorgos Alkaios, Kati Garbi, Pantazis, Marinella, Glykeria, Natasha Theodoridou, Dionisiou, Vandi, Zig Zag, Kondolazos, Valanti,Vasili Karras & John Tikis just to name a few. Paradise has supported local Greek artists in their careers, many of whom have travelled to Greece to perform or record solo or collaborative efforts there.

Paradise’s versatility allow them to perform many styles of music from modern Greek, traditional Greek, Funk, Latin, Jazz and dance music and the latest hits from Greece which combine many of these genres. Paradise has performed at many outdoor festivals, television promotions and of course private functions where they have provided the entertainment.

Dennis a lively performer, prepared to go the extra distance to get it right. A unique musician whose ability to play lead and bass guitar combined with a talented  voice and an excellent mix of harmonies to compliment the singing styles of the duo influenced by Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Elvis, Robbie Williams Steve Miller Band and the Beatles and many more artist.

Danni brings a fresh youthful vibe to the music. 6 years of training at The School of Music allows Danni to belt out tunes, hit the high notes and have the dance floors full. Danni plays piano and sometimes performs at Chans in Liverpool. Danni has also been on the Voice in 2013 she is a great artist and can mesmerise the audience.

Kandela are one of Sydney’s most experienced and versatile Latin Bands. Previously known as ‘Bamboleo’, they have consistently been packing latin dance venues since their inception in 1998.   

Keeping up with the changing music market & demands of their audience, they have also worked under the names ‘MoZaike’ and ‘Sydney Sound Machine’

The band has held longterm residences in several well known venues, including VIVAZ  Restaurant Nightclub at The Rocks, La Vista Latin NiteClub at Petersham RSL and The Portugal Madeira Club in Marrickville. 

Other notable residencies include: The Star City Casino, Amazones Niteclub/Restaurant in Parramatta, The Stock Exchange Hotel Sydney CBD and The Millennium Hotel in Potts Point.

Lucky Starr

Lucky Starr is one of the founding members of the Australian Pop Music Industry. A regular on television shows such as Bandstand and also hosted Six O’Clock Rock for one season. He also made regular appearances on Mavis Bramston Revue 60-61 in MelbourneTonight, Sing Sing Sing, plus many other entertainment shows.

In 1962 Lucky recorded a hit record “I’ve Been Everywhere”, which to date still remains one of Australia’s all time favourites. The record received the highest accolade in the music
industry, the Platinum Award.

1963 saw Lucky performing in the United States on the Nevada Circuit, The Flamingo in Las Vegas, The Mapes in Reno and Harvey’s in Lake Tahoe. Also in the same year Lucky signed a recording contract with Dot Records in Los Angeles, releasing five singles. His agency was Coast Artist, signing performers such as Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Rodgers and Billy Eckstein. As a result of his American trips, Lucky was invited to work the Hilton Hotel Chain world wide spending several years working these prestigious rooms.

Lucky was also the first Australian performer to entertain the troops in Vietnam; in fact paying his own way there and made five subsequent trips into the war zone.

2002 and 2003 saw Lucky touring with “Long Way To The Top”, an Arena Spectacular which toured Australia’s capitals and regional centres. The show featured the cream of Australia’s entertainers from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Due to its popularity it become the subject of an ABC Television special.

Lucky’s style ranges from Rock & Roll, to Country through to Jazz and is in fact similar to the late great Bobby Darin.

These days his polished performing style has him working full time in the business he loves.

Joe, having been one of Australia’s leading studio technicians has worked with Kylie Minogue, Diesel and Richard Clapton to name a few. He has made sure their show is state of the art in both sound and lighting.

Fabian started his singing career in a small club at the tender age of 4 imitating Ricky Martin and got the name Ricky Martin Jr.

By age 8, Fabian decided to be a dancer and singer so started dance and voice lessons.

In 2007 Fabian was chosen as a backup dancer for Kate-Miller Heidke at the 52nd annual Aria Awards.

One year later was chosen as a backup dancer for Guy Sebastian on “So You Think You Can Dance Australia”.

Now a full time singer & dancer Fabian is proficient in all styles of dance from Hip-Hop to Jazz. 

Fabian expanded his talents playing the roles of Beatle Juice, Austin Powers and Freddie Mercury.

With decades of entertainment experience between them, Lauren Cook (vocals and piano) and Mick Ellis (guitar and vocals) are no strangers to the live band circuit, both nationally and internationally.

Mick has been a staple of the live industry over the past fifteen years in acts such as Wylde Child, The Hippos and more recently, as a member of four-time Australian Entertainment “Mo” Award winners Frogs On Toast. He has performed at countless pubs, clubs, weddings and corporate functions in Australia and has also toured China and Papua New Guinea.

Lauren has received a Bachelor of Music and has been working the club circuit with bands and cabaret shows, performing across Australia as the lead in The Hannah Montana tribute show, and with a residency at Slide Piano Bar in Sydney with The Divine Miss Bette.
